COUNTRY THUNDER is a Film and Television project by writer/director Sam Wood, in collaboration with Matthew Kennedy, Mike C. Manning, and John Graham.
A road trip story with a twang, COUNTRY THUNDER is the story of two best friends and their journey to becoming the next big thing in country music. There’s only one thing standing in their way...They don’t know the first thing about country music.
Lawrence and Sam are jobless, hopeless, and about to be homeless. When Sam has an idea after watching a random good ol’ boy snag a record deal from singing karaoke - they too are going to become country music stars! Lawrence, ever the pragmatist, would rather get a real job and in the act of, meets and falls head over heels for a girl named Paris. After he fallaciously tells her he’s half of a successful country music duo, he must go along with Sam’s insane plan in hopes of getting the girl - and just maybe find fame and fortune in the process.

This film is the first in a series of feature productions with the young writer and producer duo Mike C. Manning (26 years old) and Sam Wood (24 years old).
